Project Management

Project Management is the planning and organization of resources in order to move capital projects through planning, programming, design and construction, into completion. Project Management typically involves a funded project, or a phase of a funded project. Resources managed include financial capital, stakeholder inclusion and UNM/State approvals.

Planning, Design & Construction is currently made up of various levels of Project Managers (PM), from an Associate PM, Senior PM to Group Manager level, all of which manage projects from small renovations to large complex multi-million dollar facilities. PDC PM’s help safeguard the goals and objectives of a funded project, while ensuring the balance of scope, schedule and budget. The PM’s coordinate large complex teams of people, such as stakeholders (client), internal partners (IT, Physical Plant, Safety, Parking Services etc.), professional consultants (Architect, Engineering, Specialty consultants etc.) and construction teams. The project management process provides structure to the planning phase ensuring a holistic approach and seamless transition from planning, programming, design and construction while adhering to UNM standards and guidelines to meet the stakeholder’s goals.
